Having an attractive, useful, and dynamic website is great
and offers immense potential for you and your business. However it is vital that as we prepare for it
to go live that we ensure that the search engines (e.g. Google, Yahoo, Bing,
etc) can locate it and determine its purpose with ease. To do this, we need some information from YOU
such as the following:
A website “Title”:
this should be a single sentence and should describe your website in general.
A website “Description”:
this should be one or two sentences that describe in more detail what the
website offers such as products or services.
Please view the image below which describes how these fields
are typically displayed when someone views the search engine results for “Koa
Consulting”:

With this in mind it is essential that the TITLE and
DESCRIPTION are simple, to the point, and have keywords that will let potential
website visitors know what they will find so they will go to your website. We suggest using adjectives that make your
website stand apart from the competition (e.g. “BEST”, “AFFORDABLE”, “TRUSTED”,
“EASIEST”, etc).
There is also a set of keywords that some of the search
engines read to gain further knowledge about your website. These are a part of what is called the “meta
tags” of your website. When we do search
engine optimization work on a website we make sure that these keywords are
relevant to your niche and represent what Internet users would be searching
for. There can be up to 25 words or
phrases on each page.
